To manage group policies and bandwidth management
Entry level Firewall/Proxy
IPpoint offers an entry level transparent proxy with domain URL filters for HTTP/HTTPS traffic and layer 3 FW rules applied on group policies. Each WiFi-plan and/or user might be associated to a specific group to different restrictions.
Enterprise Firewall integration
For an enterprise level service like Cruises, we also implement the same user/group logic through an API integration with PaloAlto firewall and Allot traffic shaper (not managed by us). Through the user-mapping feature, IPpoint will only manage the AAA process, leaving the FW/shaper rules managed by dedicated appliances
Additional integration
To optimize bandwidth usage, IPpoint can also offer live data consumptions to third party software which monitors the consumption and, through our API, perform a downgrade/upgrade of bandwidth quality.
